Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, ensuring to confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. The control power used to close the contactor and the overload should be selected by choosing a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. The incoming power can be defined as a "Direct-On-Line Starter" if the line power is also used as the control power, or as "Separate Control Voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. In cases where activation is required from an external switch, terminals are added for control power input, referred to as "Remote Start Terminals." This arrangement assumes that the line voltage and control voltage are the same, but if different voltages are used, it is specified as "Separate Control Voltage + Remote Start Terminals." The specific features of the starter include 38A, 1 phase capability, separate coil voltage, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 16-20A overload limit, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
