Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To ensure proper selection, it is essential to refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the intended input voltage, confirming whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. The starter should be rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power for closing the contactor must also be chosen, along with the overload selection based on a current range that includes the motor's FLA. Options for the starter include incoming power configurations such as direct-online starter where line power is also used for control, or separate control voltage if the control voltage differs from line voltage. Additionally, remote start terminals can be included for activation from an external switch, which accommodates situations where line and control voltage are not the same. This specific starter features a rating of 38A, operates on 1 phase, includes a separate coil voltage, has only a reset button, and supports a 100-250V AC/DC coil with an overload relay range of 29-35A, all housed in a NEMA 4X poly enclosure.
