Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power to the motor, and choosing a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Choose the control power used to close the contactor, and select the overload by choosing a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. The optional criteria for selection include incoming power type, where a "direct-online starter" uses line power as control power, while a "separate control voltage" requires different voltages. Remote start terminals can be added for activation from an external switch. This specific model features 38A rating, operates on 1 phase, includes separate control voltage + remote start terminals, provides start/stop functionality, and utilizes a 24-60V AC/DC coil with a 20-24A overload relay, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
