Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should verify the full load amperage (FLA) of the motor from its nameplate, ensuring to check if the motor utilizes 1-phase or 3-phase power. It is recommended to choose a starter rated for current (amps) exceeding the FLA of the motor. Selection criteria involve determining the control power used to close the contactor and the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Additional options include specifying incoming power for "direct-online starters" where line power serves as control power, or "separate control voltage" when different voltages are employed. For activation via an external switch, terminals are available for control power input, identified as "remote start terminals." The featured model offers 38A 3-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, a reset button, and operates at a coil voltage range of 250-500V AC/DC with 16-20A overload. The enclosure maintains a NEMA 4X rating, ensuring durability in various environments.
