Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should verify the full load amperage (FLA) of the motor from the nameplate, confirming whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power, and choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA. In addition, users must select the control power used to close the contactor and choose the overload based on a current range that encompasses the FLA. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power types such as "direct-online starter" for line power used as control power, or "separate control voltage" for differing line and control voltages. For external activation from a switch, terminals can be added for control power input, referred to as "remote start terminals". The specific model features include a 38A rating, 3-phase operation, separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, a reset button, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 35-40A overload relay.
