Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A, designed to meet various operational requirements. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To choose the appropriate starter, one should verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor nameplate based on the input voltage, confirming whether the motor operates on 1 phase or 3 phase power. The selected starter must be rated for a higher current than the FLA. Control power for the contactor must also be specified, along with selecting an overload that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria include the type of incoming power: a direct-online starter uses line power as control power, while separate control voltage is used when line voltage differs. For activation via an external switch, the starter can be fitted with remote start terminals, and if using diverse voltages for line and control power, it’s categorized as separate control voltage with remote start terminals. Key features of the starter include a 38A capacity for 1 phase operation, a direct online configuration with a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 35-40A overload, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
