Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, determining whether the motor requires single-phase or three-phase power. The starter must be rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Additionally, select the control power used to close the contactor and choose the overload by selecting a current range that contains the FLA from the motor's specifications. The optional criteria for selection include incoming power, where "direct-online starter" uses line power for control, "separate control voltage" indicates a different control voltage from line voltage, and "remote start terminals" allow activation from an external switch. For configurations requiring different voltages, the designation becomes "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The motor starter features include a 38A capacity for 1 phase, remote start terminals, a reset button only, a coil rated for 100-250V AC/DC, and an overload capacity of 16-20A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
