Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is essential to refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. The starter should be rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The control power to close the contactor must also be selected, along with the overload, which should match a current range that encompasses the FLA. Additional considerations include the type of incoming power: a "direct-online starter" uses line power as control power, while "separate control voltage" indicates a different control voltage. For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals are available, and if different line and control voltages are used, this is categorized as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The features include a 38A 1 phase separate control voltage with remote start terminals and a start/stop 24-60V AC/DC coil, along with a 29-35A overload protection in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
