Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring to confirm if it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of your motor and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload should be selected based on a current range that includes the motor's FLA. Optional criteria include the incoming power: a "Direct-On-Line Starter" uses line power for control, while "Separate Control Voltage" applies when the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For activation from an external switch, "Remote Start Terminals" can be added, with the assumption that line and control voltages are the same; if different voltages are used, it is referred to as "Separate Control Voltage + Remote Start Terminals."
