Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, and confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor and select the control power used to close the contactor. Additionally, select the overload by choosing a current range that encompasses the FLA from the previous step. The starter options can be further refined based on incoming power requirements: for direct-online starters, the line power serves as control power; for separate control voltage, the control voltage differs from the line voltage; for remote activation, terminals are added to accept external control power input; and for setups requiring both separate control voltage and remote start terminals, specify that arrangement. Key features of the starters include a 38A rating, 1-phase separate control voltage, remote start terminals, a reset button, a coil voltage range of 24-60V AC/DC, and a 35-40A overload with a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
