Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload must be chosen by selecting a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power; if the line power is used as the control power as well, it is termed a "direct-online starter." If the control voltage differs from the line voltage, it is classified as "separate control voltage." For starters needing activation from an external switch, terminals for control power input can be added, referred to as "remote start terminals." Key features include a rating of 52A, three-phase operation, separate control voltage with remote start terminals, a start/stop function, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and a 36-47A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
