Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60hp or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage supplied, confirming if it requires 1-phase or 3-phase power. Opt for a starter rated for a current (amps) greater than the FLA and choose control power to close the contactor. Select an overload based on a current range that includes the FLA identified earlier. The optional criteria for starter selection include incoming power, where "direct-online starter" refers to using line power for control, or "separate control voltage" when the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For external activation via a switch, you can add terminals, known as "remote start terminals," which assumes that line and control voltages are the same. If different voltages are used for line power and control power, it will require a configuration of "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include a 52A 3-phase separate control voltage start/stop with a 24-60V AC/DC coil and a 30-40A overload, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
