Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters comprise a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, ensuring to note whether the power supply is 1-phase or 3-phase. It is essential to choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power should also be determined, and the overload must be selected to encompass the motor's FLA. Additional selection criteria include determining the incoming power type, where a "direct-online starter" utilizes line power for control, while "separate control voltage" uses a different voltage for control. For activation from an external switch, "remote start terminals" can be included, which works with the assumption that line and control voltages are identical. If different voltages are used, the configuration would be "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The key features include a 52A 3-phase direct online starter with a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload relay rated for 22-28A, all within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
