Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with capabilities up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor nameplate and confirm whether the motor uses 1-phase or 3-phase power. A starter should be chosen that is rated for a current higher than the FLA of the motor. Additionally, the control power used to close the contactor must be selected, along with an overload that encompasses the motor's FLA. Options for incoming power include "direct-online starter" when line power is used as control power, "separate control voltage" when the control voltage differs from the line voltage, or setups with "remote start terminals" that allow activation from an external switch. Key features of the motor starters include a 52A 3-phase separate coil voltage for start/stop operations, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, a 25-33A overload range, and the durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
