Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for a current higher than the FLA. The control power to close the contactor must also be selected, along with the overload current range that contains the FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the incoming power configuration, which can be a "direct-online starter" using line power for control, or "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For activation via an external switch, starter configurations may include "remote start terminals," and if using different voltages for line and control power, the configuration would be "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include a 52A 3-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals for start/stop, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 36-47A overload relay in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
