Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters rated up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your application, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage you will supply, ensuring to confirm whether the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power. The starter should be rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Additionally, choose the control power required to activate the contactor and select the overload by picking a current range that encompasses the FLA from the previous step. Options for selection include incoming power configurations, such as "direct-online starter" if the line power is also utilized as control power, or "separate control voltage" if they differ. The starter may be equipped with remote start terminals if it will be activated by an external switch.
