Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage. Confirm whether the motor is 1-phase or 3-phase power, and choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Next, select the control power used to close the contactor, and then choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power; if the line power will be used as control power, it is a "direct-online starter," whereas if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, it is a "separate control voltage." For starters activated from an external switch, remote start terminals are added to accept the control power input. Key features include 52A 3-phase remote start terminals, start/stop functionality, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and 36-47A overload protection, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
