Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60 HP or 80 A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your needs, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage and confirm if the motor requires 1 phase or 3 phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Additionally, select the control power used to activate the contactor and choose the overload relay based on a current range containing the FLA from the previous step. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power: if the line power is also used for control, it is classified as a "direct-online starter." If the control voltage differs from the line voltage, it is categorized as "separate control voltage." For starters activated by an external switch, terminals are provided for control input, referred to as "remote start terminals." The configuration known as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" applies when line and control voltages differ. The specific features of this model include a rating of 52 A for 3 phase operation, remote start terminals, start/stop functionality, a coil voltage range of 250-500 V AC/DC, and an overload range of 36-47 A within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
