Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should first verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to check if it is single-phase or three-phase power. It is essential to choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The control power used to close the contactor should also be determined, along with selecting the overload based on a current range that includes the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for selection include whether the line power will also serve as control power, categorized as a "direct-on-line starter," or if a different control voltage is used, termed "separate control voltage." For starters requiring activation from an external switch, terminals can be included for control power input, known as "remote start terminals." If differing voltages are utilized for line and control power, this is designated as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The key features of the motor starter include a 52A three-phase direct online start/stop capability, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 36-47A overload protection, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
