Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with ratings up to 60 HP or 80 A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage. Ensure to check if the power to the motor is single-phase or three-phase, and select a starter rated for a current higher than the FLA. Next, determine the control power for closing the contactor and choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA from the first step. The selection process can also consider incoming power types: a "direct-on-line starter" for when line power is used as control power, or "separate control voltage" when they differ. If activation comes from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, which assume the line and control voltages are the same. For applications where different voltages are used, both separate control voltage and remote start terminals can be specified. Key specifications include 52 A, 3-phase operation, with a separate coil voltage for start/stop functionality, supporting a coil voltage range of 100-250 V AC/DC and an overload range of 36-47 A.
