Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your requirements, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to check whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. The control power used to close the contactor must also be chosen, along with selecting an overload by picking a current range that contains the FLA. Optional criteria include selecting incoming power, where if line power is also used as control power, it is termed a "direct-online starter." If different voltages are used, it is referred to as "separate control voltage." For activation from an external switch, the setup would include remote start terminals. Key features of the starters include 52A 3-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, start/stop capability, 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 30-40A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
