Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, and confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Additionally, choose the control power used to close the contactor and select the overload by choosing a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. Once this initial selection is made, consider the incoming power options: if the line power is used as the control power, it is classified as a "direct-online starter"; if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, it is classified as "separate control voltage"; and if an external switch activates the starter, terminals are added for remote control, creating "remote start terminals." For specific configurations, the product features 52A 3 phase separate coil voltage along with remote start terminals for start/stop functionality, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 22-28A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
