Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60 HP or 80 A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to confirm whether the power supply is single-phase or three-phase. It is important to choose a starter rated for current higher than the motor's FLA. Additionally, select the control power needed to close the contactor and choose the overload based on a current range that includes the motor's FLA. The optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power, whether using line power as control power (direct-online starter) or separate control voltage. For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals may be added, and these can also accommodate separate control voltage. Key features of the motor starter include a 52 A rating, compatibility with 1 phase, separate coil voltage, a start/stop function, a 100-250 V AC/DC coil, and a 30-40 A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
