Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage. Ensure to confirm whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power and choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. Control power options include a direct-online starter, where line power is used as control power, or a separate control voltage. For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, assuming the line and control voltages are the same unless specified as separate control voltage + remote start terminals. Key features of the motor starter include a 52A 3-phase separate coil voltage, remote start terminals, a reset button, and a 100-250V AC/DC coil, along with an overload rating of 44-53A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
