Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate based on the input voltage, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Ensure the starter is rated for a current (amps) greater than the FLA, and choose the control power for the contactor's closure. The overload must be selected from a current range that includes the FLA. The following optional criteria can help narrow down your selection: If the line power also serves as the control power, this is classified as a "direct-online starter." For different line and control voltages, use "separate control voltage." If activation from an external switch is required, remote start terminals can be added, assuming the line voltage is the same as the control voltage, or can be specified for separate control voltage with remote start terminals. Key features include a current rating of 52A, 3-phase capability, separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, a reset button only, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 22-28A overload relay.
