Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed to handle motors with ratings up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should first verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to check if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. The starter should be rated for current (amps) higher than the motor's FLA. Additionally, the control power for closing the contactor should be chosen, followed by selecting the overload by identifying a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria include selecting between "direct-online starter" for line power used also as control power, "separate control voltage" for differing line and control voltages, and configurations with "remote start terminals" for activation from an external switch. Key features include a 52A 3-phase separate control voltage reset button, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and an overload range of 44-53A, all housed in a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
