Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters rated up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should first verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor or equipment nameplate at the supplied input voltage, ensuring to identify whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. The starter should be rated for a current higher than the FLA. Control power for closing the contactor must then be chosen, followed by selecting an overload that encompasses the FLA identified. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power types: direct-online starter for the same line and control voltage, separate control voltage for differing voltages, and remote start terminals for external switch activation, which can also be combined with separate control voltage. The features of these motor starters include a 52A 3-phase separate control voltage, a reset button, a coil voltage of 24-60V AC/DC, and an overload relay rated for 22-28A, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
