Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power to the motor. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor and decide on the control power used to close the contactor. Select the overload by choosing a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria include incoming power—whether using line power as control power (direct-online starter) or a separate control voltage. For remote activation from an external switch, terminals can be added to accept the control power input. This starter features a 52A rating, operates on 1-phase power, has a separate coil voltage, supports start/stop functionality, and accommodates a 100-250V AC/DC coil with a 22-28A overload. The NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure ensures durability and compliance with applicable standards.
