Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, ensuring to confirm whether the power type is single phase or three phase. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power for closing the contactor must also be selected, along with the overload by identifying a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the incoming power configuration: a "direct-online starter" if line power is used for control, "separate control voltage" if differing control and line voltages are used, or "remote start terminals" if activation from an external switch is required. This configuration assumes that line and control voltages match; however, for different voltages alongside remote start terminals, select "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Notable features of the motor starter include a rating of 52A for single-phase operation, remote start terminals, a start/stop mechanism, a coil rated for 100-250V AC/DC, and overload protection ranging from 36-47A, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
