Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage. Ensure to confirm the phase of the power supply (1-phase or 3-phase) and choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The control power for closing the contactor should also be determined, along with selecting the overload by choosing a current range that accommodates the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria include incoming power type (direct-on-line starter or separate control voltage), and if an external switch activation is needed, terminals for remote start can be added. The key features include a 52A 3-phase direct online reset button, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 36-47A overload, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
