Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the supplied input voltage, ensuring to check if it is 1-phase or 3-phase. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. Determine the control power used to close the contactor and select the overload by ensuring the current range includes the motor's FLA. The starter can be identified based on optional criteria such as incoming power: a "direct-online starter" if the line power is the same as the control power, or "separate control voltage" if they differ. For activation from an external switch, options include "remote start terminals" for line and control voltage being the same or "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" if they differ.
