Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A, which include assembled motor starters consisting of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. The starter should be rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. Control power used to close the contactor must also be chosen, along with selecting the overload by identifying a current range containing the FLA from the previous step. The optional criteria for selection include incoming power, where direct-online starters are used if the line power also serves as the control power. Alternatively, if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, it is classified as "separate control voltage." For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals may be added, assuming the line and control voltages are the same. If different voltages are used, it becomes "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include a 52A 1-phase separate coil voltage, remote start terminals, a reset button only, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 30-40A overload, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
