Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your needs, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage on the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to check whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Select a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. Choose the control power used to close the contactor and select the overload by picking a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power type, which can be a "direct-online starter" if the line power is also used as the control power, or "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. If activation from an external switch is necessary, remote start terminals can be added, assuming the line and control voltages are the same, or designated as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" if different. Key features include a 52A rating, 1-phase operation, direct online configuration, a reset button only, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload range of 44-53A, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
