Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, and confirm whether the power supply is single-phase or three-phase. Choose a starter rated for a current higher than the FLA, followed by selecting the control power for closing the contactor and the overload based on a current range that covers the FLA. Optional criteria include determining the type of incoming power: a direct-online starter uses line power for control, while separate control voltage employs different voltages for line and control. Remote start terminals can be added for external switch activation, with configurations available for both same and differing voltage applications. Key features of this kit include a 65A three-phase separate coil voltage start/stop system, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 36-47A overload relay, all housed in a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
