Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with specifications of up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. When selecting the appropriate starter, it is essential to refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied while confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. The required starter must have a current rating higher than the FLA. Additionally, the control power for closing the contactor should be chosen, along with selecting an overload with a current range that encompasses the FLA. The options for the incoming power include: direct-online starter if the line power also serves as control power; separate control voltage if the control voltage differs from the line voltage; and remote start terminals for activation from an external switch, with the assumption that line and control voltages are the same. If using different voltages, a configuration of separate control voltage with remote start terminals must be selected. Notable features include a 52A 1 phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals for start/stop functionality, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, a 22-28A overload, and a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
