Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to confirm whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The control power used to close the contactor and the overload must be selected based on a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. The starter can be classified based on incoming power, such as "direct-online starter" (if line power is also used as control power), or "separate control voltage" (when they differ). For activation from an external switch, terminals can be added for remote start, with options for "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" if different voltages are used. Key features of the starter include a maximum current of 52A, compatibility with single-phase power, a separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, a reset button only, a coil voltage range of 100-250V AC/DC, and an overload range of 36-47A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
