Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A, designed for various applications. Assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure, ensuring durability and protection in demanding environments. To select the appropriate starter, reference the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, confirming whether the power is single-phase or three-phase. Choose a starter rated for a current higher than the FLA. The control power used to close the contactor must also be determined, followed by selecting the overload with a current range that contains the FLA. Optional criteria include incoming power configurations, such as direct-online starters where line power serves as control power, or separate control voltage configurations. Additional options include remote start terminals that allow for activation from an external switch, with configurations available for separate control voltage alongside remote start terminals.
