Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor nameplate and confirm whether power is single-phase or three-phase. Choose a starter rated for a higher current than the FLA. Additionally, select the control power for the contactor and the overload by identifying a current range that encompasses the FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the incoming power configuration: a "direct-online starter" uses line power for control, while "separate control voltage" indicates different line and control voltages. Remote start terminals allow for activation via an external switch, under the assumption that line and control voltages are identical. If different voltages will be used, the configuration should be "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The features of these starters include a 65A 3-phase configuration, remote start terminals for start/stop functionality, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 50-60A overload capacity within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
