Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage specified on the motor or equipment nameplate, confirming whether the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor, and select the appropriate control power to close the contactor. The overload must be selected based on a current range that includes the FLA determined earlier. Additional selection criteria involve the incoming power; options include a "direct-online starter," where line power serves as control power, or "separate control voltage," where the control voltage differs from line voltage. For external switch activation, select "remote start terminals," which assume the line and control voltages are the same. If using different voltages, opt for "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The key features of the motor starter include 65A, 3-phase compatibility, remote start terminals, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload relay rating of 44-53A, all within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
