Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor, select the control power for the contactor, and then choose an overload that encompasses the FLA. The selection can be refined based on several criteria: if the line power serves as control power, it is termed a "direct-online starter," whereas a "separate control voltage" configuration is needed if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For remote activation from an external switch, "remote start terminals" can be added, and if different voltages are used for line and control power, it is referred to as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include a 65A 3-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, a reset button, a coil voltage range of 250-500V AC/DC, and an overload rating of 36-47A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
