Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters rated up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage. Ensure to confirm if the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power and select a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor. Choose the control power for the contactor and select the overload by picking a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power; if line power is also used as control power, it is a "direct-online starter." If different voltages are used for line and control power, this is termed "separate control voltage." For starters requiring activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, which assume that line and control voltages are the same. If using different voltages, it is specified as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The key features include a 65A 1-phase direct online start/stop, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 36-47A overload, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
