Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring to confirm whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. Next, select the control power used to close the contactor and choose the overload by selecting a current range that contains the FLA. The optional criteria include incoming power configuration, where “direct-online starter” is used if line power also serves as control power, or “separate control voltage” when the control voltage differs from line voltage. For activation from an external switch, “remote start terminals” are added, assuming line and control voltages are the same; if they differ, it is specified as “separate control voltage + remote start terminals.” Features include a 65A three-phase configuration, separate control voltage, remote start terminals, reset button, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and a 50-60A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
