Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring to check if it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor must be determined, and the overload should be selected from a current range that encompasses the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria include the choice of incoming power: if the line power is used as the control power, it is a "direct-online starter"; if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, it is "separate control voltage." For activation from an external switch, terminals can be added for remote start capabilities. The specific model features a rating of 65A, operates on 3-phase power, includes separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, supports start/stop functions, and accommodates a coil voltage range of 250-500V AC/DC, along with a 36-47A overload relay.
