Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60 HP or 80 A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to determine the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, with consideration for 1-phase or 3-phase power. The starter must be rated for amperage higher than the motor's FLA. The control power used to close the contactor must also be chosen, along with an overload that includes the FLA within its current range. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power types: "Direct-On-Line Starter" if the line power also serves as control power, or "Separate Control Voltage" if different. For activation via an external switch, options include "Remote Start Terminals" for the same voltage or "Separate Control Voltage + Remote Start Terminals" for different line and control voltages. Key features of the starters include a maximum rating of 80 A, support for 3-phase operation, direct online functionality, start/stop capability, compatibility with 250-500V AC/DC coils, overload protection rated at 65-78 A, and a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
