Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is essential to refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, confirming whether the power is single-phase or three-phase. The starter should be rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor. Additionally, one must choose the control power to close the contactor and select an overload by ensuring it contains the FLA from the previous step. The starter selection can be based on optional criteria such as the type of incoming power: direct-online starter if the line power will also serve as the control power, or separate control voltage if they differ. For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be included, with provisions for different voltages referred to as separate control voltage plus remote start terminals. Key features include a 65A 1 phase direct online with a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 36-47A overload relay, all enclosed in a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
