Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor nameplate at the input voltage, and determine if the motor uses single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for a current higher than the FLA. The control power for closing the contactor must also be selected, alongside the overload which should encompass the FLA determined earlier. The kit may be configured based on incoming power requirements, such as a direct-online starter if the line power will also be the control power, or a separate control voltage if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For external activation via a switch, remote start terminals can be added, and if using separate voltages, this option can be configured accordingly. Key specifications include 80A capacity, compatibility with three-phase power, direct online operation, start/stop functionality, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload rated between 75-87A.
