Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage using the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to check whether it operates on single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. Next, determine the control power used to close the contactor, and select the overload by choosing a current range that encompasses the FLA identified. Additionally, consider the incoming power configuration: for direct-online starters using line power as control power, the control voltage matches the line voltage; for separate control voltage, the voltages differ; if activating from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added. The specific features include a 65A one-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals and a start/stop 100-250V AC/DC coil, alongside a 44-53A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
