Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage and confirm whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor must also be chosen, along with the overload by selecting a current range that contains the FLA from the previous step. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power, where "direct-online starter" indicates line power is used for control, while "separate control voltage" indicates different line and control voltages. Additionally, if activation from an external switch is required, the starter can be equipped with remote start terminals. This particular model features a 65A rating, is designed for 1 phase operation, has a separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, includes a reset button only, and supports a 100-250V AC/DC coil with an overload range of 44-53A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
