Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for use up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. It is essential to choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor must also be considered, along with the overload, by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA. The selection process allows for additional criteria such as incoming power configuration, whether the line power will be used as the control power (direct-online starter) or if a separate control voltage is needed. The option for remote start terminals is available for activation from an external switch, and the starter can be configured for separate control voltage scenarios. This product features an 80A 3-phase direct online start/stop with a 250-500V AC/DC coil and a 48-60A overload relay, all housed in a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
