Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling loads up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage being supplied, ensuring to determine whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor, select the control power for closing the contactor, and then choose the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA from the previous step. The options for selection include incoming power configurations, such as "direct-online starter" for matching line and control power, or "separate control voltage" for differing voltages. For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, with options for "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" if different voltages are utilized.
